….in Her Shoes….in red heels and raised awareness of the issue of violence against women and raised funds to support Women’s Community House (WCH) in the work we do with abused women and their children. It was a beautiful day for a Walk – sunny and warm!!
Thanks to all who donned the red shoes, walked and collected pledges. Thanks to all who pledged the walkers and cheered them on from the sidelines. And thanks to all who volunteered to help make the 2016 Walk a Mile in Her Shoes® a success.
The Shoe-be-do trophy was awarded to the WCH House Team who raised over $5,000 as a team. Fabulous!! The Shoe-per-hero award went to Mark Elliott, the individual walker who raised the most in pledges, over $2,600.
As pledges continue to be received, WCH is proud to announce that we have raised over $30,000 to date for the 2016 Walk. If you have yet to make a pledge, please go to www.walkamilelondon.ca and pledge a specific Walker or make a general donation to the 2016 Walk a Mile in Her Shoes®.
